World Vision (WV) Ukraine Crisis Response (UCR) contracted Scruples Research (hereafter known as “The Assessment Team”) to conduct an Education in Emergencies (EiE) needs assessment across Ukraine. The EiE assessment was carried out in nine locations: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv. 1 The methodological design followed a mixed-methods approach and utilised both quantitative and qualitative methods, including a desk review of secondary data and analysis as well as primary data collection, which included surveys with centre coordinators and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with teachers. In total, 13 centres were assessed through interviews with centre coordinators. Moreover, semi-structured in-depth interviews were implemented with children in 6 centres, one girl and one boy in each. Additionally, 6 FGDs with teachers, 4 with female and 2 with male teachers. The data collection inside Ukraine was implemented through WV’s local partner Save Ukraine and took place between 21 September 2023 and 03 October 2023.
